We build our safety culture to provide our people with the training, resources and support needed to maintain their safety and the safety of those who work and live around our construction projects.
We thank the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) for again recognizing our successful, comprehensive safety program with 2023 James L. Abraham Safety Performance Awards of Excellence. Michels Canada was recognized for having the lowest lost-time incident frequency rate in two categories: Mainline Pipeline Construction and Specialty Contractor (HDD) – Pipeline Construction (over 200,000 work hours).
Recording zero lost-time injuries in both categories is a testament to the efforts of our teams in the field, our project leaders and our HSE professionals to incorporate safety into all plans, decisions and actions.
We are proud to be part of an industry that actively promotes safety and are committed to never becoming complacent about improving our safety programs. Congratulations to the other contractors recognized by the PLCAC at its annual conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
