Michels contributes to Trenchless Technology’s best new installation winners

Pipelayers lower a large diameter pipeline into a trench in a rural Canadian environment.

As a world leader in trenchless installation and renovation, we continuously develop safe, reliable solutions to meet the demands for minimally disruptive, environmentally sound infrastructure construction. We also pride ourselves on pioneering new approaches that propel trenchless techniques forward.

Trenchless Technology Magazine has recognized two Michels’ trenchless projects that demonstrate our commitment to quality, innovation and safety among its annual Trenchless Technology Projects of the Year:

Trans Mountain Expansion Pipeline — New Installation, Winner

Michels Canada constructed 55 km of NPS 36 pipeline through river and road crossings, wetlands, farmland, and urban and rural neighborhoods in British Columbia. Our contributions to the project included six Direct Pipe installations, five horizontal directional drill (HDD) installations, and numerous auger bores and directional bores. At its peak, 1,500 Michels people worked on the complex project.
